Timothy 2:5-6 “For there is one God and one mediator between God and mankind, the man Christ Jesus, who gave himself as a ransom for all people. This has now been witnessed to at the proper time.”
‭‭1 Timothy‬ ‭2‬:‭5‬-‭6‬ ‭NIV‬‬

In 1 Timothy 2, Paul urges believers to pray for all people, especially leaders, so that they may live peaceful and godly lives, reminding them that Christ is the one mediator who gave Himself as a ransom for all. He instructs men to pray without anger and women to live with modesty and godliness, focusing on inner devotion rather than outward adornment. Paul emphasizes order in worship, teaching that women should learn quietly in submission and live out their faith through holiness, love, and self-control.

These two verses teach that salvation is exclusive in who provides it (only through Christ) but inclusive in who it’s offered to (all people).

Lord Jesus, thank You for being the one true mediator between God and us. You gave Yourself as a ransom to set us free from sin, and Your sacrifice offers life to all who believe. Help me to live in gratitude, to share this truth with others, and to walk daily in the freedom and love You purchased for me. Amen.

There is only one God, Holy and faithful
He made a way for us to rest in Heaven’s cradle
He ransomed His Son, our Lord Jesus Christ
For all to see as they journey through time
