Prayer of Dependence

Father God!
We are dependent upon You
We are helpless and broken in spirit
We are desperate beggars for Your perfect provision
Only in You will we find true peace and comfort
Only in You we find love, mercy and grace
We come to Your throne of grace, not in our power, but by the authority of the blood of Your Son, our Savior, Jesus Christ
Whom You have given all power and authority over us
It is by power of His Name and through Him we petition for Your mercy to cleanse us of inequity
It is by power of His Name we ask for You to heal our wounds
It is by power of His Name we ask for Your peace to comfort us
It is by power of His Name we ask for wisdom to do the things we can do to testify to His glory
It is by power of His Name we ask for increased faith to trust You in and through all things
May we give you honor and glory through our valleys of despair and our mountain-tops of joy

We praise You! Father God!
We praise You! Holy Spirit!
We praise You! Jesus! Son of God! Savior of sinners!

In Jesus’ Wonderful Name we pray,
Amen

A Psalm of Worship

O Lord do not let me wear a robe of heaviness for fear of the future
Anoint my head with the oil of gladness
You are in control of all things
Let me dance and sing of Your wonders
Let me run free in the beauty and joy You have set before me
Let the work of my hands shine and glorify You
May everything that I am speak of You
Through strength in humility and mercy in victory
You alone are my Shepherd, my shield, my refuge
I will not find comfort or contentment in anything of the world
It does not know me
You have shown me love
O How much You love me
O Lord, silence my doubt with songs of love, faith and hope
Knowing Your love is my portion
Knowing You is enough

Our Greatest Expectation

Like a child excited about the return of his father. Before the apostle John concludes His testimony in Revelation, the final book of the Bible, he writes in Chapter 22 verse 21 “20 He who testifies to these things says, “”Yes, I am coming soon.” Amen. Come, Lord Jesus.”

As Christians, no ambition, no goal, no agenda should be desired above the glorious return of our King. It is our constant hope and our greatest expectation. All the work of the gospel is in preparation for this single event. We love one another enough to save each other from not participating in the ultimate reward of His return. It marks the end of earthly sorrows and the coronation of the Holy reign of our Prince of Peace. It heralds our joyous reunion with loved ones who have passed into His glory before us. But above all — our faith shall become sight and we will be in the presence of Jesus, the object of our life-long worship.
