Some songs come from a quiet moment of worship — others are born in the middle of a battle. “Stand Strong” is one of those songs.

When Tammy asked me to write a song about the armor of God at the beginning of her battle with breast cancer, I knew it needed to be more than lyrics and melody. It needed to be a declaration — a reminder that even in the fiercest storms, God equips us with everything we need to keep going. I began writing it in September of 2024, but as life often does, this past year pulled me in many directions and I found myself distracted from my music and media ministry.

Yet even when I felt slowed or scattered, Tammy never stopped fighting. She is still putting on her armor every day — standing strong in faith, standing strong in hope, and standing strong in the confidence that God’s goodness will always win. Her courage, her endurance, and her trust in the Lord breathed life into every line of this song.

“Stand Strong” became more than a project. It became a testimony. A worship battle cry. A reminder that when we feel weak, God’s strength rises within us. As you listen, I pray this song encourages you just as it has encouraged us — to lift your shield of faith, put on the full armor of God, and keep standing especially when the fight feels lost.
