\nHe said also to the man who had invited him, \u201cWhen you give a dinner or a banquet, do not invite your friends or your brothers or your relatives or rich neighbors, lest they also invite you in return and you be repaid. But when you give a feast, invite the poor, the crippled, the lame, the blind, and you will be blessed, because they cannot repay you. For you will be repaid at the resurrection of the just.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

Jesus teaches that real generosity isn\u2019t about getting something back\u2014it\u2019s giving to those who can\u2019t repay, trusting God to reward what others never see.<\/p>\n

God blesses people who bring nothing to Him but need. We imitate Him when we serve the poor, lonely, and forgotten. If we give only to those who can benefit us, that isn\u2019t love\u2014it\u2019s a transaction.

\nFather,
\nRid my heart of greed. May I never hold on to anything in this world that has no eternal value. Help me to store treasure in heaven and not here on earth. Help me be blindly generous with no expectation of reward except Your blessings in Christ.
