{"id":9,"date":"2010-12-29T02:45:45","date_gmt":"2010-12-29T02:45:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sing2jesus.org\/?p=9"},"modified":"2010-12-29T03:10:47","modified_gmt":"2010-12-29T03:10:47","slug":"what-is-worship","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sing2jesus.org\/?p=9","title":{"rendered":"What is Worship?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>What is Worship? <\/strong>To answer this question you must be able to faithfully answer two other questions.<\/p>\n<p><strong>One<\/strong>, How much is God &#8220;worth&#8221; to you?<\/p>\n<p>Is He &#8220;everything&#8221; just like the songs we sing?\u00a0 Who is God? What does He mean to you?<\/p>\n<p><strong>Two<\/strong>, Do you really know what &#8220;love&#8221; is\/means?<\/p>\n<p><em>1 John 4:8 (New International Version)\u00a0 Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>(1 Corinthians 13:4-8)\u00a0 4Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.<\/em> <em>6Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. 8Love never fails.<\/em><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Love is not sex<\/li>\n<li>Love is not infatuation<\/li>\n<li>Love is not selfish<\/li>\n<li>Love is an action word<\/li>\n<li>Love is sacrifice<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><em>(Romans 12:1)\u00a0 Therefore I urge you, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living and holy sacrifice, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service of worship<\/em>.<em> <\/em><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Love is a gift<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><em>(John 3:16)\u00a0 16\u201cFor God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son,f that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>(John 15:12-13)\u00a0 12My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you. 13Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends.\u201d <\/em>Jesus did this!<\/p>\n<p>Worship is simply a life lived in &#8220;obedience&#8221; to God&#8217;s commandments. It is not the music we sing. \u00a0<em>(John 14:15) 15\u201cIf you love me, you will obey what I command.&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Worship can be expressed through singing. The singing is an external, outward expression of the thankfulness too overwhelming to be contained in our hearts.<\/p>\n<p><em>(John 4:23-24)<\/em><em> 23 \u201cBut an hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for such people the Father seeks to be His worshipers. 24 \u201cGod is spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em> <\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>(John 14:21) 21 He who has My commandments and keeps them, it is he who loves Me. And he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and manifest Myself to him.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>God will never ask us to do something He has not already done.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>What is Worship?
